Continuous 172nm Excimer Soft-Touch Coating Line for Wood & Panels – Customizable Width (600-2100mm) & Gloss Level (1-10 GU)
172nm excimer UV curing machine
,soft-touch coating line for wood
,customizable width excimer coating machine
This customizable excimer coating line utilizes advanced 172nm excimer UV technology to produce ultra-matte, soft-touch ("skin-feel") surfaces on wood-based panels, furniture, and decorative materials. Available in continuous flat panel, 3D shaped object, and water-based eco-friendly configurations.
The system is fully customizable in working width, coating method, lamp configuration, gloss level, and automation level. The excimer technology creates a micro-wrinkled surface through rapid surface photopolymerization, achieving gloss levels as low as 0.5-5 GU without chemical matting agents, resulting in an elegant, velvety tactile sensation often described as "baby skin" smoothness.
Working Principle: UV-curable lacquer is applied to the substrate via roller or spray, then passes through a nitrogen-inerted chamber where 172nm excimer lamps trigger surface polymerization. This creates microscopic surface folds that diffuse light (super-matte effect) without affecting deeper coating layers, which are subsequently fully cured by conventional UV lamps. The nitrogen environment is essential as oxygen would inhibit the curing process.
