High-Speed Industrial Curtain Coater with Customizable Coating Width (Up to 2200mm) and Non-Contact Coating Technology
Industrial curtain coater with non-contact technology
,Customizable width curtain coating machine
,High-speed curtain coater up to 2200mm
This customizable curtain coater uses a free-falling liquid curtain to apply uniform coating layers onto flat or slightly profiled substrates in a non-contact, high-speed continuous process. Available in industrial high-speed, laboratory R&D, and multi-layer premium finish configurations.
Unlike roller or spray coating, curtain coating is a pre-metered, non-impact process that delivers excellent coverage at lower coat weights without scratching or film-splitting defects. It achieves speeds up to 60-100 m/min and coat thickness variations within ±0.5% of target value.
Working principle: Coating material is pumped to the curtain head and forms a continuous falling curtain between adjustable knives. The substrate passes beneath at controlled speed, transferring liquid film uniformly. With recovery system, excess coating is recirculated, achieving ≥95% material efficiency.

A: A curtain coater applies coating without physical contact, eliminating streaks and roller marks. A roller coater uses rotating rollers in contact with the substrate. Curtain coating is better for high-gloss finishes and achieves greater uniformity, while roller coating is typically used for thinner coats. Both technologies are customizable based on application needs.
A: The system supports all types of paint: water-based, polyurethane, UV-curable, acrylic, epoxy, and solvent-based coatings - clear or pigmented, matt, semi-gloss, or glossy. For parquet coatings, paints containing aluminium dioxide, corundum, or glass microspheres can be applied to achieve high surface abrasion strength. Material contact parts are customizable per coating chemistry.
A: Yes. With a customizable twin-head or cascade configuration, you can apply two or more functional layers simultaneously (wet-on-wet), optimizing raw material efficiency and production cost.
