This material-saving XPS board knife coater applies a precisely controlled wet coating layer onto extruded polystyrene (XPS) rigid foam boards. Unlike spray or roller coating, the knife-over-roll method achieves >95% transfer efficiency and eliminates overspray, which is especially critical for XPS (solvent-sensitive substrate). Excess high-viscosity coating (plaster, polymer mortar, latex, acrylic, or cementitious base) is recirculated back to the supply tank. Customizable blade gap, coating width, material viscosity, and surface adhesion promotion available for different XPS densities (25-50 kg/m³) and final applications (stucco-render ready, anti-skid walkable surface, fire-retardant layer).
